In June, the province of Manitoba released data on “the experiences of Black, Indigenous and racially marginalized patients and staff in emergency departments”. On behalf of the Manitoba Health coalition, our provincial director and myself, chair of Indigenous Health committee authored this article on the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives - Manitoba website calling for more systemic action to confront racism in our province.

“Auntie Style” means systems and workers are rooted in the concept of kinship and are able to provide culturally safe care. Check out a report that Indigenous youth from Winnipeg contributed to sharing their hopes for primary care for themselves and their loved ones.
