“Write it down” - this practice has also allowed me to be a better public communicator including speaking, media interviews and blog writing. I am able to take time to formulate my thoughts and decide which words are just for myself, what are the private conversations I need to have with others and what can be shared in the public realm.

The smartest people have responded in pandemic specific ways and I am honoured to know so many and to do what I can to help. I have learned how to be a pandemic public speaker and other organizers and organizations have enhanced programs and systems to be pandemic proof.

So I was thinking some deep thoughts when I was shoveling yesterday. When I was shoulder deep in snow, I realized that shoveling in snow storms was a great metaphor for life and the choices we can make.

Today I was overjoyed to spend some time reading to all the kids at the Children's Hospital in Winnipeg on Children's Hospital TV! I read one of my favourite books and did an activity with the folks watching to help us find, share and celebrate our many gifts. Thank you to everyone who helps make entertainment and education for the kids staying at the hospital, I know you make their time there a little easier and hobby a little faster!
