This new report spans a 20 year period in Manitoba where child welfare open a case file for 1 in 27 non-First Nations parents - but open case files found their way to 1 in 2 First Nations parents in the same time period. Hosted at Merchants Corner by community leader Michael Redhead Champagne, this in-person event will feature engaging conversation between Ma-Nee and Shayla Stonechild, fresh off championing the book on Canada Reads!

According to Michael Redhead Champagne, the North End is a neighbourhood of artists, storytellers and creatives. “We’ve lost too many community gathering spaces,” says the well-known community organizer. “The Palace Theatre can be a place where we celebrate our stories, culture and resilience.”

I was so honoured when I heard that Friesens wanted to share We Need Everyone with kids across southern Manitoba in soft cover format for I Love to Read Month this year!
