The Airline, The Airport & World Book Day

Every year, April 23rd is World Book Day! I was honoured to spend my first one as an author connecting with Winnipeg Richardson International Airport and Perimeter Airlines for 2 very special projects, one in person and one ongoing until October!

Adventure @ the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport!

The folks over at @YWGairport invited me to hang out in departures/arrivals on this special day and sit with the other volunteers who were giving away reading materials of all sorts to passers by who loved reading and wanted to celebrate (and read) with us. I was able to sit beside them with a table of my own as the Winnipeg Airport had purchased a couple of cases of books, and I was then able to sign and cat print and give away those books to kids and parents and educators who were coming and going from all over the world. Thank you to the whole team responsible for this awesome celebration and thank you for donating g20 books to the Gifting Books campaign!

The Airline: Perimeter Aviation

With this announcement it give a little bit more structure and support to the Sharing Gifts campaign we are trying to work on! Take a look at the map below to see the orange communities are the places where Perimeter flies to! We are in conversation already with some of the education leaders in Shamattawa but there are 19 more communities to go!

So far we have gathered approximately 70 books, which is almost 2 cases, enough for us to start sending books!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Gifting Books campaign I cannot wait to share this with more relatives in the north!

If you are in one of those communities please reach out to me so we can start having conversations about getting you some books!
